Galatians 1:11
Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.
The gospel message is not based on just what men have thought but from God has put on my heart….
So many times in my life I feel that I have read the word, have heard the Holy Spirit impress on my heart words…words that typically do not match up with others ideas. Ultimately, second guessing myself and those precious words, often missing the blessing the Lord had for me, by listening to others opposed to the Holy Spirit. Other times, I have listened and was blessed beyond measure!! Not just in the situation, but in my heart!! Despite the trial to get to the end, the moments of peace in the middle, the confirmation Jesus put in my spirit, it was all just so amazing.
Years ago, my hubby and I had prayed about moving to another city. This message was not received well by any. Despite the negative emotions of all, our hearts were overjoyed with peace! We would meet with others, and hear their disappointment with our decision. Talk about discouraging! But out hearts were so confident in what the Lord had told us to do, we would rejoice in the truth of knowing that His plans for us were good, no matter how bleak it appeared.
Years later, we both can see the good from listening to what God had asked us to do. We can see His blessings in a situation not approved by man, but inspired by God Himself! We have experienced a life we would have never experienced if we would have chosen to listen to the wisdom of man. Friendships & phenomenal spiritual growth would have never occurred had we ignored the prompting of the Holy Spirit. If we are truly seeking His will for our lives, praying through every step, waiting on Him, and following the instructions in the Word, we will experience His indescribable peace & joy in following Him… regardless of what others may think your next step should be.
